Better Breathing Foundation (BBF) is delighted to announce a collaboration with Lung Foundation Australia (LFA), a national organisation that is dedicated to supporting anyone with a lung disease. This collaboration will ensure more research projects are funded in the area of chronic lung disease. Similar to BBF, LFA’s main objectives are to:
- Promote the importance of lung health
- Promote early diagnosis of lung disease
- Support those with lung disease, their families and carers
- Promote equitable access to evidence-based care
- Fund quality research
BBF’s Managing Director, Dr Zoe McKeough, said “The collaboration of the Better Breathing Foundation with Lung Foundation Australia is a fantastic initiative as both foundations seek to grow the amount of research being conducted on chronic lung diseases in Australia. Our first funding collaboration will be a BBF/LFA Allied Health Scholarship to support an early career researcher complete PhD studies in chronic lung disease at an Australian University. We will be seeking applicants for this scholarship from April 2017.”
The collaboration between BBF and LFA will be announced at the 2017 Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand’s Annual Scientific Meeting (TSANZ ASM) in March. In fact, this scholarship will be announced each year at the TSANZ ASM and will provide an opportunity for the recipient to present an overview of their research project.
BBF is a not for profit organisation with the primary objective to support early career health research students to conduct high quality research on chronic lung diseases. Please email Zoe McKeough at zoe@betterbreathing.org.au if you are interested in supporting the BBF.
